VINEYARD TO APPEAL
Cable Bay Vineyards is appealing against Auckland Council’s decision not to approve its restaurant that opened years ago. In 2012, the winery opened part of its second restaurant, The Verandah, before a formal launch in 2014, said neighbour Lindsay Niemann. Director Loukas Petrou applied for retrospective consent for the restaurant and function facility in 2017. In a decision released on January 30, Auckland Council hearing commissioners refused to grant consent. The council has now been informed the vineyard will appeal that decision.
