AN­TIQUE DEALER ROBBED

Waihi Po­lice are seek­ing in­for­ma­tion af­ter the rob­bery of an an­tique dealer in Waihi last Mon­day.

Two males en­tered the hall area at the St John Am­bu­lance premises at around 1.30pm in John­ston Street where an an­tique dealer had set up for the day.

The men had their faces cov­ered and the hoods of their sweat­shirts were up. One of the men was armed with a black pistol.

De­tec­tive Glenn Ewing said that the men de­manded money and were given an amount of cash. They also stole an iPhone and charger .

The two of­fend­ers ran off along John­ston Street in the di­rec­tion of Haszard Street.

Po­lice de­scribed the of­fend­ers as male Ma¯ori or Poly­ne­sian with one of tall and stocky build wear­ing dark coloured cloth­ing. The sec­ond man was slightly shorter and of stocky build and was also wear­ing dark coloured cloth­ing.

The pistol is de­scribed as be­ing dark in colour with a wide body.
