It was windy and cool early in the morning on Saturday October 13, and not many players in the field for Karl Wilson Buttons final and a nett haggle. All Saturday players who had earned a Button throughout the season by having the best nett score in their divisions on specified days, were eligible to compete in the final play-off for Buttons to keep. Nett haggle results: Phillipa Harvey 71; Carol Leary 72; Jenny Wilson, Liz Hale 73; Desley Rosevear, Shoneen Dunning 76; Gay Bainbridge, Michelle Libby 77; Robin Zinzan, Jackie Robson 78. Hidden Holes: Shoneen Dunning 9 points.

On Wednesday October 17 at Waihi, the cold wind gusts that blew all day made for difficult conditions. Yet, as always, there were some who managed to keep their concentration, and return great scores in the Karl Wilson Buttons final and a nett haggle. Nett results: Jacquie Bain 67; Mavis Bruce 68; Carol Leary 69; Di Lewis 71; Avon Gordon, Dot Ramsey 73; Helen Baynes, Gay Bainbridge, Jenny Tubman, Rae Wright 74; Jan Robinson, Sally Sherson, Bev Ireland, Kay Marshall, Denise McConnon, Jenny O’Dwyer 76; Kay Still, Heather White 77; Penny Joyce, Kaylene Croker, Wendy Matutinovich 78; Anke Hermannsdorfer, Heather Walker 79.
