BOWLING

Waihi: November 24, Men’s Champ Pairs was completed on Saturday with a close finish between winners Earle White and Tom Pettard against runners up Eric Jebb and Bob Loader showing the score at 11 points each after 15 ends. However the determination of Tom to attain this title at age 86 was too strong, and the duo’s bowls, under pressure, proved too much for the more junior pair. Final score 17 points to 11. Women’s junior U8 singles was won by a good margin by Kay Scahill, whose improved delivery skills paid off in the competitive games against Helen Parsons.
