Merry Christmas

-

Christmas is rapidly approaching and it is always a time to reflect on what is ahead of us. I read with some concern the report on the attack on the firefighters at Waihi Beach over the weekend and thought how selflessly our emergency crews serve the public. Hopefully this holiday period will not be a ‘Silly Season’ and our teams will be safe and appreciated as they support the community.

Safety and support have been key issues in dealing with the asbestos in our Op Shop building. The safety of our volunteers and customers has been paramount and we are pleased that the contractors are working on the building repairs this week. The landlord has been very supportive and has done all in his power to get the work underway. We don’t have a date for re-opening yet but it shouldn’t be too long. Looking forward to the holiday period we will be holding a Quiz Night at the Waihi Beach RSA on Friday 11 January. Pencil this in your diary and come and join us for a Fun Night.

We wish everyone a Happy and Safe Holiday Season.
