Santa’s riding into Paeroa at weekend

Santa and singing will help ring in the Christmas cheer at Paeroa on Saturday night.

The town is holding its annual Santa Parade and Carols in the Park, which promises to be a fun twilight family evening.

Jo Tilsley from Positive Paeroa says the event is eagerly anticipate­d every year and this year was no exception.

“It’s always wonderful and we are really looking forward to it.”

The parade would begin at 6pm and travel up Paeroa’s main street, with the final destinatio­n the Paeroa Domain.

Attraction­s included selfies with Santa, a mechanical surfboard, a tyre changing competitio­n, hammer strike, giant Snakes ‘n’ Ladders, Twister and Pick Up Sticks alongside a bouncy castle,

face painting and much more.

The attraction­s were provided by Positive Paeroa and free for the community to enjoy, she says.

“We also have food stalls on site, prizegivin­g and we will finish the evening with carol singing, accompanie­d by local musicians.”
