Add seeds to sal­ads for punch

This de­li­cious nut and seed sprin­kle will add a kick of flavour and crunch to any salad.


■ 1 cup Fresh Life nat­u­ral al­monds

■ 1 cup Fresh Life pistachios

■ 1 cup Fresh Life pump­kin seeds

■ 1 1⁄4 cup Fresh Life sun­flower seeds

■ 1⁄2 cup Fresh Life sesame seeds

■ 4 Tbsp tamari


Heat a large non-stick pan over a low heat. Add al­monds and pistachios to the pan. Keep the nuts mov­ing with a wooden spoon un­til they are toasted around the edges. Re­move and set aside.

Re­peat with the sesame seeds and set aside.

Re­peat with the sun­flower and pump­kin seeds, mov­ing them around con­stantly with a wooden spoon un­til the pump­kin seeds be­gin to crackle and pop. Re­turn the al­monds, pistachios and sesame seeds to the pan along with the tamari and take off the heat. Work quickly to stir the tamari through the mix­ture to en­sure ev­ery seed is coated.

Spread on a bak­ing tray lined with bak­ing paper and al­low to cool.

Store in an air-tight con­tainer for up to two weeks, and sprin­kle over any salad that needs a hit of savoury crunch, or just have a handful as a snack!
