GARDEN TASKS
Pot of flavour
Plant a few of your favourite herbs in pots close by the house so you don’t have far to go for flavour when it’s raining. Coriander enjoys cooler weather and is perfect with autumn and winter curries.
Fruity delight
Take advantage of autumn fruits like feijoas and guava and make a batch of fruit paste or jelly. Perfect with good, local cheese.
R-rated garden
Plant an “R” garden to stretch your imagination and teach your kids and grandkids something new. Plant radish, rhubarb, rocket and rosemary.
Pluck and eat
Beg, borrow or scrump persimmons. Non-astringent varieties stay firm when ripe and can be eaten straight off the tree. Acidic varieties ripen off the tree.
