First Anzac apartments offer river views at Hills Village

- By Jo Ferris www.lodgerealestate.co.nz

As Hills Village continues to unfold, the vision behind its development is capturing stronger attention.

Marketing this complex from the outset, Basil Lennan from Lodge Real Estate says people are now dealing with certainty. Despite disruptions of the past two years, nothing has detracted the fortitude of developer Stark Property, or the commitment of builder Steve Ross in delivering this extraordinary complex in Hamilton East.

Stage 2 is the latest release – the Anzac apartments. Ten bespoke apartments cover three levels – the riverfront units blessed with outstanding leafy outlooks across the river to Hamilton’s CBD. The only penthouse was the first to sell. Of the remaining nine, Basil is marketing five – two each on the third and second levels, together with the ground-floor apartment. Offering a mix of two and three bedrooms, two bathrooms - with three in the lower unit - each boasts the highest specs, bespoke styling and a close connection with the complex’s swimming pool. All have two secure, underground parking spots. Security is one of the driving aspects behind the Hills’ vision.

“The key behind it from day one is not that people are buying four walls. They are buying into the complex and its lifestyle,” says Basil.

Pivotal to the Hills’ vision, this village will be its own entity; a private neighbourhood reserved for its residents, their families and friends they invite. An all-encompassing lifestyle is the next key ingredient. The swimming pool will be an amazing 25 metres, while the retail enclave and outdoor spaces will enhance the way residents live and connect.

Hamilton has never had a development of this magnitude or standard, according to Basil. Interestingly, he says buyer interest is strongest in the local market. That said, outside people are wanting to belong to Hamilton’s increasing desire as a location, according to Basil.

The Anzac complex promises to raise the bar, due to its prominent position beside the river and pool. Naturally, apartments overlooking the water command a higher status. However, at the other end, views trending towards the village’s commercial activity will appeal to people who thrive on being amid the vibe of city life.

It’s extraordinary that this complex has not only survived the past two years, it has risen above everything and remains on course to be delivered on time and original expectations of Stark Property’s director Matt Stark.

Underpinning this was his vision for the old Hills Laboratories. Stripped and redeveloped into bespoke apartments, this stage is nearing completion in a few months. Work is already underway on the Anzac block and, with the underground carpark also nearly finished, the next phase will involve the first stage of terraced apartments and retail precinct until eventual fruition of this unique development with its green spaces and village lifestyle.
