Breathless in anticipation

Devilskin tour eagerly awaited around the country

-

To say the response to our first Devilskin competition wasn’t quite what we were expecting is an understatement. Everyone, it seems, is eagerly awaiting the opportunity to breathe the same air as Jennie, Paul, Nail and Nic at one of the upcoming gigs on their Let Me Breathe tour.

As we mentioned in our last competition, we have two further chances to celebrate with Devilskin, and this week we’re offering the chance to win a signed Devilskin photo. As you can see by the attached image, there are two different photos up for grabs with three copies of each.

All have been signed by Paul, Nail, Jennie and Nic and laminated. And that is pretty much what Devilskin is all about. They are more than just music. They are a family. Whether you are immediate family, friends, fans or a member of the wider community of the people of Aotearoa New Zealand, Devilskin has been there for you from day one through the highs and lows, the tears and laughter, and they bring it all together at those much-sought-after ‘‘family reunions’’ — their live gigs. The regard they have for everyone is known internationally. This was evidenced recently when, because their Let Me Breathe tour was announced prior to Cyclone Gabrielle hitting New Zealand and as a mark of reverence and respect to the hard-hit Hawke’s Bay and in recognition of the widespread devastation that continues to impact daily on those communities and the wider region, the band decided to reschedule their Napier show, with the mid-april date now moving three months out to Saturday, July 29. Kia kaha, kia maia, kia manawanui.

As Devilskin bass guitarist Paul Martin enthuses: “We thought it was about time we came up for air. It’s important to take a moment to breathe, enjoy the moment and celebrate when you can. For this band, writing, recording, and most especially, playing live shows — that’s our air. Yeah, we are bursting to do this tour. There will be some big nights

with some of our favourite people, towns and venues. The band is sounding sharp; we haven’t been idle at all.

“We’ve been knuckled down working on some exciting new stuff that we’re absolutely looking forward to sharing, alongside some deep cuts and some party faves.”

Always conscious of the very special and unique bond they have with their fans, Devilskin value this connection, forged with sincerity and integrity over many years.

It’s this solid relationship with their fans that drives the band to be committed to delivering the best live show they can, and the band plan all elements of their tours with fan satisfaction at the top of the list.
