O¯ hinewai works

Waka Kotahi NZTA has traffic management along a 8.2km section of SH1 at O¯ hinewai (0.8km south of Rangiriri interchange to 1.7km south of Ohinewai interchange) as it prepares to install barriers to prevent people from running off the road and hitting trees, poles or ditches. Several roadside lights will also be repositioned. Before the safety improvements start, NZTA is locating services, such as power and fibre infrastructure, over the next two weeks. A shoulder and lane closure is needed but two-way traffic will be maintained. Hours of work will between 7am and 7pm, with some night works possible.
