Milk supply query

-

Why is it that when an expert is presented with something, almost always ‘‘No, can’t, won’t work’’, etc, is said?

Fonterra doesn’t believe that some form of price checking will work. All the excuses included ‘‘the companies that get the milk will export it as milk powder’’, etc.

We always get easy answers, then the mumble-monsters arrive and await for the dust to settle.

How about a solution in a month’s time? Sounds like a challenge to me. Start now. BOB MORTON Hamilton regard to flood risk working in conjunction with their counterparts at Environment Waikato, who employ skilled flood management staff 24 hours a day?

If not, sack their section manager and put the chief executive and his second in charge on half pay plus audited performance bonuses. I strongly support Margaret Evans’ efforts for a regional local body. Do away with consultants and have more robust accountable auditors. RAE RAVENWOOD Hamilton council term ended. Continuing to take a generous council salary, when he should have resigned, didnt bother him.

Of more concern is his recent attendance record. We have just completed the first stage of the District Plan Review, an important work defining the city for the next 20 years. This has involved 19 three-hour meetings. Wilson has attended only 11.

His team in opposition, the Gang of Four, has also shown questionable commitment.

Cr Martin Gallagher attended 12 meetings, Dave Macpherson 12, and Angela O’leary just nine. GORDON CHESTERMAN Hamilton City Councillor
