Marks on Bain

-

running the country as if it were a business, the use of this word is not out of character. It fits his style. A style that sees children living in poverty, unemployment, unaffordable housing, environmental damage as necessary parts of the balance sheet needed to ‘‘show a profit’’ for the country.

Insulting around 10 per cent of the electorate with the ‘‘bozo’’ label is all part of the hubris.

The Opposition in Parliament, according to John Key, is the Bozo Greens and the ‘far Left’’ Labour Party. If only that were true. If the current Labour Party was far Left, then the Prime Minister would be Genghis Khan. But he’s not. Instead, he’s just a leader of a government that’s not moving with the times. We are a nation, not a business, and we all need to treat each other with respect, tolerance and understanding.

Governing is about people, not money. PETER TRIM Hamilton by tribunal contributors with new evidence on the delay caused by excessive fluoride-intake on the eruption of baby teeth. The National Government cannot be trusted to care for the health and well-being of vulnerable community groups and should be overwhelmingly rejected by the electorate at next year’s general elections. ROGER STRATFORD Hamilton I watched the Campbell Live programme on the marks spotted on Robing Bain’s thumb and forefinger. I thought immediately when they stated that the marks were smudges that they might have been too tunnel visioned on that as it was too hard to see if they were smudges or actual marks on the skin or even cuts.

Looking at the prints, the second mark that would have been second from the fingernail is off the area of the print area.

I would suspect that the person doing the shooting would have been in a heightened state of anxiousness after killing the first one or two victims, adrenalin would now be flowing through the killer’s body at an alarming rate, and then all the fumbling with faulty magazines and reloading bullets etc, I would suggest that the extra exertion applied in a time of panic caused the skin to wear down to a point beyond where fingerprints are readable.

The police should be more open minded and look at the possibility that it is due to gun markings, thus allowing David Bain to get compensation and the rest of us New Zealanders get on with our lives. TONY HEWITSON Te Awamutu
