Think hard about God

-

Max Christoffersen ( Waikato Times Feb 19) and others seem intent on removing God from our society.

Have they really thought through what a society and state without God would look like?

The atheist Soviet Union killed 62 million of its own people, firstly to remove God, and then as a result of God having been removed – remove God for long, and you remove all human rights, even democracy.

Atheist China killed 77m for the same reasons, and the brutalising and killing by a godless leadership against all non-atheists continues today.

Pol Pot killed probably 2m, and atheist Albania in the 60s, 70s and 80s has a terrible record.

The suffering and killing in North Korea continues unabated. Non-atheists and political opponents are sent to hard labour camps or simply shot.

A society should think long and hard before removing God – an atheist state is a desperate and dangerous entity. FRED BARRETT Tirau abysmal decisions may well have some far more serious future outcomes for the city than at present envisaged.

The one-dimensional Councillor Garry Mallett has succeeded in not only persuading a large majority of his fellow councillors to turn their backs on any real environmental concerns in favour of property development, but has also thumbed his nose at all the hard work and commitment of many able and willing volunteers by publicly labelling them ‘‘greedy greenies’’. What a perversion!

How secure from predation by property developers are the Hamilton Gardens, for instance, under the stewardship of such people?
