Subdivison owner looks for a new developer
A residential subdivision in Te Kauwhata needs a new developer.
For health reasons, the owner of a 10.5 hectare, 74-lot subdivision off Travers Rd is selling the land.
Consents are in place and earthworks have begun on the road, which the developer has cleared and laid metal on.
Bayleys Hamilton real estate agent Andrew Shaw said the development is about 40 minutes drive from Hamilton, and the same from Manukau.
It’s also about 15 minutes drive from Pokeno, where development has begun on a similar subdivision.
‘‘That subdivision has proved pretty successful,’’ said Shaw.
He said the land was mostly North-facing and had a better outlook than the Pokeno subdivision.
‘‘It’s gently sloping hill. There’s a vineyard in behind it.’’
Eight of the lots have been sold in the first stage of the four-stage development.
Shaw said the lots will likely appeal to Aucklanders who want to escape the high section
Early stage roading work has begun at the subdivision off Travers Rd in Te Kauwhata. price in their home city.
He said lots will be ‘‘a fraction of the cost of Auckland, and probably even cheaper than Hamilton’’.
The average lot size is around 875 square metres.
He said the purchaser would be able to begin construction on the first of four stages this summer.
