Daylight robbery busted on CCTV

-

Two men caught on CCTV footage breaking into a Nawton home are living a life on the run to pay for their drug habit, police say.

Sergeant Jono Clark, of the Waikato Tactical Crime Unit, said the pair were so brazen they were carrying out burglaries in the middle of the day.

‘‘CCTV footage captured from a home burgled in Nawton this week shows two men breaking into a home down a long driveway.’’

One of the men has been identified as Mark Douglas Martin. Martin, 28, is of medium build and about 175cm tall. He is wanted for breach of community work.

‘‘Our team is also working to positively identify the second man in the images,’’ said Clark.

As a result of the break-in, police undertook several search warrants in Nawton on Friday, but did not find the alleged offenders.

"Family and associates have advised us the pair have no fixed abode and are allegedly supporting their drug habits from the proceeds of crime,’’ Clark said.

"While they remain at large we did locate another wellknown burglar out and about in breach of existing curfew conditions.’’

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Martin, or the identity of his co-offender is asked to contact him at the Hamilton Central Police Station on
