When Hillary met Jacinda

Hillary Clinton has met with Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern in Auckland.

The pair met at the Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour Hotel, where Clinton is staying, for breakfast yesterday morning. Their meeting was closed to media. Ardern’s press secretary has shared a selfie of the pair, and confirmed they exchanged gifts, though no specifics of the breakfast, gifts or discussion were released.

It’s possible Clinton gave Ardern a baby-related gift.

On Sunday evening, Clinton was spotted shopping at a boutique Parnell baby store.

The former US first lady is in New Zealand on a speaking tour organised by Australian business event provider The Growth Faculty, part of the organisation’s ‘‘Women World speaker series.

The talk at Auckland’s Spark Arena last night would ‘‘provide her personal insights into the 2016 US presidential election, its

Changers’’ aftermath and what the future holds’’, the faculty said.

Clinton would also recount parts of her New York Times bestselling book, What Happened. Stuff
