Prime Gordonton property awaits

-

Looking to buy land for grazing or to grow grain? This prime Gordonton property could be the perfect solution. The 74.89ha dry block will fulfil a majority of requirements, says marketing agent Kevin Deane. ‘‘It will take care of your Mycoplasma bovis concerns – there’s no danger of cross contamination from other stock – or palm kernel limitation issues.’’ At present 90 per cent of land usage is cropped for maize silage and grain maize, apart from two paddocks which are in pasture. Soil quality is peat to 4m in depth and the main plot has recently been given a healthy dose of fertiliser and lime. A brand-new bore was drilled two weeks ago and supplies 2000 litres of water per hour. ‘‘That’s more than sufficient for dry stocking. It’s plumbed to a pump which can, if required for grazing, reticulate water right around the farm,’’ Kevin says. Access to through the farm is via a central race, which is in excellent condition. ‘‘It’s a metal track gives all-weather access and it’s exceptionally well located.’’ The property is post and wire fenced, and existing electric fencing is included in the sale. Shedding comprises two halfround haybarns. The three-bedroom farm house is built from HardiePlank, the roof is Colorsteel and joinery aluminium. All designed to keep maintenance to a minimum. Indoors, a woodburner keeps the house warm over the winter months, backed up by underfloor insulation. Domestic rainwater supply from the roof is held in two large tanks, then pumped to the house. Primary schooling is in nearby at Tauhei Combined School, which caters for new entrants to year 6; and education for older children is at Morrinsville Intermediate School and Morrinsville College with the School Transport Service available from the gate. The vendors’ adjoining property, an 89.9ha dairy goat farm, is due to come on the market too. ‘‘It will be sold as a full going concern and we are encouraging people to register their interest,’’ Kevin says. ‘‘Dairy goats are proving to be a real rock star of the agriculture industry.’’
