Time to hit the road

-

There comes a time for all leaders and deputies to tuck their tails under and slowly skulk to oblivion. Such must now be the fate of Simon Bridges. A disastrous interview on TV3 implied that political donations for him or the party for the election without scrutiny on documents signed by him, were OK .

This man is unfit for leadership and needs to be rolled by his colleagues, as does his deputy.

His inquiry in to a ‘‘leak’’ that was always going to be public information, shows the inability of this man and his immediate colleagues to lead.

Judith Collins has not had an easy ride, but she clearly is the person to take National into the election.

I hope the National caucus has the brains to discern the importance of this decision.

To those who think I ‘‘bleat,’’ I am not a non thinking sheep.

Rather I look at the wider picture.

If old man Peters retires, and I hope he does and gets a knighthood, then Shane Jones and Judith, with their respective party support would make a great coalition.

I do hope the Minister of Education is standing by the Pacific with binoculars to welcome the 850 teachers who have slalomed their way through immigration paper work to rescue our education system, before he has white hair and a beard.

Surely this was deserving of ‘‘another committee’’ of the 100+ we have, to research our education dilemmas, reflected on the poor performance of our universities.

Then there are Labour petrol taxes . . . baa, baa, baa!
