Camera obscura
We have over sixty photographs in this series of Hockin House and one here of a photographer in the process of undertaking the photography which records the house as it was in early 1985.
As an aside, we would very much like to know who the young lady was (or indeed, is) as we assume she worked at the museum, but we have no-one there now who was there in 1985. Her attire suggests it was summer.
Hockin House was moved to this site from the hospital grounds where it had sat since 1893.
It was the medical superintendent’s home until 1939.
Looking through this house now, refurbished and re-furnished, is to travel back to late Victorian Hamilton – how they lived and what amusements they had. It’s well worth a look. The house is open each Wednesday between 1pm to 4pm.
