Keane for North Harbour
Kieran Keane has been appointed coach of North Harbour, taking over from Tom Coventry, who has moved onto the Blues. Keane, who played for Canterbury, coached Tasman in the ITM Cup and worked with the Chiefs and Highlanders in the past. Even though he’s not from the North Harbour area, the union’s general manager David Gibson said Keane was the right fit. Keane coached Irish team Connacht up until May, but was sacked 12 months into a three-year deal, following a disappointing season. He will get a chance to rebuild his coaching career at Harbour.
