Founders Theatre

I’m glad that most of the councillors want to see how they can save the Founders Theatre. The submission I replied to, didn’t have an option for retaining the theatre unless you also provided an example of your funding spreadsheet. So it was a Clayton’s survey, expecting and getting submitters to say it should be demolished. I’m disappointed in [deputy mayor Geoff] Taylor’s comment about it becoming full of addicts and their needles if it was saved. It wasn’t like that in the past and it is only since the council decided to demolish it that some homeless sit there. Such a judgmental, negative, wrong comment. Taylor being a past reporter seems to be the main councillor having printed comments on council business. He is often at odds with the decisions of the majority so is only one voice and I would like a more even coverage of the thoughts of councillors to balance his often negative comments. Be more balanced and give all other councillors a voice!
