NZ Post

-

Following a query at the NZ Post Morrinsville counter asking if I posted a letter to a Morrinsville PO Box, would it be separated by local staff and delivered directly to the box number. The answer was that all mail gets sent to NZ Post sorting centre in Auckland and then sent back to Morrinsville for delivery. This, of course, applies to other province centre towns. As we all know the three-day ‘‘aspirational’’ promised delivery time is actually 7-10 days. I get mail from the UK sooner!

The only reason for this logistical ‘‘gem’’ I can think of is that NZ Post wishes to actually count the mail for statistical purposes to annually inform us all that mail volumes are declining and again postage must go up to $1.50 in July 2021.

This argument is also false as so many organisations, Waikato Health Board for example, now use DX (their stamps are the same price) to ensure next day delivery for their appointment patients. Otherwise NZ Post would be delivering letters after the appointment date.

And taxpayers pay the head honcho of this calumny over $850,000+ annual salary. Yeah right!
