Turners car key heist

-

Police and a private investigator looking into the theft of 135 car keys and three vehicles from Turners in Hamilton have honed in on a man caught on CCTV. They believe he can ‘‘assist us in our investigation’’ and they also want to hear from other businesses who saw him on their premises on the weekend of November 5 and 6. Officers were called that Sunday morning about the burglary at Turners on Te Rapa Rd. The three cars – a Holden Commodore, Volkswagen Polo, and MercedesBenz S-Class – that were stolen have since been recovered in Huntly, a spokesperson from Turners said. Two of the cars were ‘‘considerably damaged’’ but would not give further details. The keys have not been recovered and are being replaced. A police spokesperson said officers were examining the vehicles and are appealing for information about a man pictured multiple times on CCTV cameras. “We believe he can assist us in our investigation of commercial burglaries in the Te Rapa area”, a statement said. Anyone who knows this man, pictured above, call police on 105 and quote the file number 221106/2871.
