Shooter kills several people, wounds others at Walmart

A shooting at a Walmart in Virginia yesterday left several people dead and several wounded, though exact numbers were not immediately known, police said. The shooter was among the dead. Officers responded to a report of a shooting at the Walmart on Sam’s Circle, Chesapeake Officer Leo Kosinski said. He did not have the number of dead, but said it was ‘‘less than 10, right now’’. Mike Kafka, a spokesman for Sentara Healthcare, said five patients from the Walmart were in hospital.
