Apprentice places third

Waikato-based builders apprentice Chris Foy has come third in the National Master Builders Apprentice of the Year competition. Foy, 21, from Hamilton, is employed by Urban Homes and was trained through BCITO, a business division of Te Pū kenga. The year-long competition was recently decided in Auckland, where the eight best regional apprentices went head-to-head for two days before a winner was decided. Dane Schnell, 23, from Auckland, won the competition, with Paulo Oliveira, 29, from Northland, placing second.
