Celebration of music at Te Awamutu show
Te Awamutu Music Federation is delighted to present a student showcase featuring talented Waikato cellist Hye In Kim.
Last year was Hye’s first year studying at the Waikato University Conservatorium of Music and he was runner up in the New Zealand National Concerto Competition.
As a result of his achievement he was invited to be a soloist with the New Zealand symphony Orchestra.
Hye is part of a line-up of students who will perform at the student showcase in Te Awamutu.
Some of the students currently competing in the Secondary Schools Chamber Music Competition are also expected to play.
Concert organisers say the show will be a celebration of music played by passionate and gifted young musicians.
■ The concert is on Sunday, June 10 at St John’s Anglican Church, Arawata St, at 2.30pm. Tickets $15 at the door, students free.
