Clas­si­cal Rus­sian mu­sic for con­cert at univer­sity

New Zealand Rus­sian Friend­ship So­ci­ety is host­ing a clas­si­cal mu­sic con­cert at the Univer­sity of Waikato.

Per­form­ing at the con­cert will be pi­anist Anna Maksy­mova.

Anna has com­pleted a Bach­e­lor of Mu­sic with First-class Honours at the Univer­sity of Can­ter­bury.

She has re­cently re­turned from Ger­many where she fin­ished a Master of Mu­sic in Pi­ano Per­for­mance in the Frank­furt Hochschule fur Musik, study­ing with renowned Rus­sian pi­anist and teacher Lev Na­tochenny.

Anna was a reg­u­lar soloist in the Out­stand­ing Young Mu­si­cians in Con­cert Se­ries in Christchurch Mu­sic Cen­tre.

She is cur­rently liv­ing and work­ing in Christchurch as a per­form­ing pi­anist and teacher at her stu­dio, The Pi­ano.

Since 2016 she has been involved as a soloist with the Christchurch Sym­phony Or­ches­tra, Akaroa Sum­mer School, Dame Malv­ina Ma­jor Foun­da­tion and Con­cert for Christchurch Foun­da­tion Trust.

The clas­si­cal mu­sic con­cert is at the Univer­sity of Waikato’s Gal­lagher Academy of Per­form­ing Arts on June 17 at 1.30pm.
