Enjoy singing with Rivertones

-

Is your inner performer just waiting to shine? Find your own musical escape and make new friends, while learning from world-class educators, with this offer from Waikato Rivertones Chorus of an open night next Monday, welcoming women of any age who love to sing.

Attend the complimentary open night (7pm in the Marian School Hall, Clyde St, Hamilton) and then for the five following Monday nights enjoy top-level musical support and education in the form of Introduction to Barbershop classes from a nationally and internationally recognised group for only $20.

Waikato Rivertones Chorus is a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, a worldwide organisation of women singers who meet regularly to rehearse and perform a cappella music, barbershop style. It’s a way to enjoy camaraderie and friendship among an amazing group of women of all ages, from young women to retirees. The health benefits of singing are well documented.

Treat yourself to a positive boost — physically, mentally and emotionally.

Learn about singing: posture, breath management, phonation, resonation, articulation and more.

Sing in your preferred vocal range — high, medium or low.

You don’t need to be classically trained or be able to read music — there are learning tracks available.

On passing your audition and an evaluation of the required music, there is the opportunity to sing with the Waikato Rivertones in their Christmas Concert and many other community Christmas performances.

The chorus enjoys exploring a broad and varied repertoire that includes jazz, contemporary, pop as well as traditional barbershop.
