Food brand joins wildlife sanctuary

-

Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari and food brand Mother Earth have partnered up for a sponsorship targeted at education programmes at the wildlife sanctuary.

The sponsorship will go towards improving the education programme that Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari provides to over 4500 students and teachers every year.

Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari is a mainland island, where 3400-hectares of native bush is surrounded by a 47km pestproof fence. It is the largest of its kind in New Zealand.

Lead educator Tali Jellyman says she is thrilled about the partnership.

“The more opportunities we can provide to involve students in experiencing conservation science in action and learning about protecting what is special about New Zealand’s rare and endangered wildlife, the more we’ll be able to ensure its protection for future generations.”

Mother Earth brand manager Larissa Arnold says the Hamilton-based company is proud to support its community.

“We believe in caring about people, communities and the environment,” she says.

“We are proud to sponsor a programme that supports young people to learn about their environment and develop skills to make a positive difference, which fit so well with our own values.”

Mother Earth produces food including lunchbox snacks, nut mixes, peanut butter and honey.

The company is passionate about supporting organisations that have a positive impact on the wellbeing of New Zealanders.

A school competition will be scheduled during term one 2020, where two lucky Waikato classrooms will have the opportunity to be part of a kiwi release experience.
