Marcus King Band at The Powerstation

-

Having established himself as a six-string hotshot, Marcus King and his incredible band of rockers are coming to New Zealand to play one Auckland show this April after their warm-up set at Bluesfest Byron Bay and performances in Sydney and Melbourne.

Ready to deliver a southern fried brand of blues and psychedelia inspired by rock ‘n’ roll, all five members create a blistering, yet soulful unit that has honed their synergy through touring.

Even better — we’ve got a double pass up for grabs so you can lay claim to have been among the crowd who “saw him first”!

The Marcus King Band play Auckland’s Powerstation (R18 venue on Thursday, April 16.

At only 23 years old, Marcus King has already been performing live for 15 years and has established himself as an enthralling world class live music talent.

He has appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, made his debut at the Grand Ole Opry, has performed with Chris Stapleton on a recent US arena tour, at the Crossroads Guitar Festival and at sold out headline shows including his namesake festival — The Marcus King Band Family Reunion.

Previous Marcus King releases have received critical acclaim from the likes of VICE Noisey, NPR and Rolling Stone who herald him an artist you need to know and described him as an “electrifying rock performer.”

Hitting number eight on the Billboard Blues Album Charts officially put The Marcus King Band on the global music map.

Still only in his early 20’s, he is fast becoming one of the most soulful voices of his generation. Mark the date in your diary.
