Four walks at Hanmer Springs in one week

Mt Dumblane

-

Some Tower Trampers have also walked Mt Dumblane before when there were no marker poles, only cairns to guide you. Without the markers you had to be observant and watch out for cairns otherwise you would go in the wrong direction, but there was definitely no possibility of getting lost as there was only one way and that was up and up and up.

This time, to our delight we had noticed that there were marker poles and this made our day much easier. We found out that the Mt Isobel Tramping Group had been working voluntarily and marked the route from Jacks Pass Road to the summit of Mt Dumblane. What a great achievement.

We had snow on the top and another magnificent day in August.
