Fair play in power market

-

The Electricity Authority has found no evidence of an undesirable trading situation. Several smaller electricity firms have accused the likes of Genesis and Mercury Energy of acting on information not available to the rest of the market. It comes after wholesale market conditions were unusually high towards the end of last year. But Electricity Authority CEO James Stevenson-Wallace says they’ve found no evidence of anti-competitive behaviour. He says the authority is focused on making sure settings are in place to ensure consumers have choice and participants have a level playing field.
