Skin cancer concern

-

The Cancer Society is calling on the Government to invest in better promotion of sun protection. It comes after an Otago University report found protection in primary schools has greatly improved over the past 10 years — but 25 per cent of schools still don’t have enough shade. Cancer Society advocacy manager Shayne Nahu says it is good that things are improving but New Zealanders need to do more. He says more people die from skin cancer than on the roads but the Government invests much more in marketing safe driving than sun protection.
