Thermal pools to open

The $15-$20 million Opuke Thermal Pools and Spa is set for an August opening in the Canterbury ski town of Methven. Five larger pools and five private pools have been built — which will be powered by a solar farm. Project director James McKenzie says the current work is concentrating on the 500 solar panels.
