Raised platform

I am writing about the raised platform on Somme Parade. I wonder if it is necessary; indeed I oppose it. Motorists will be inconvenienced during construction but who cares?

The surface of Somme Parade has been unchanged for 100 years, so why alter it now? Not a small decision to do that.

It is obvious that this is a very busy street. Why not paint a pedestrian crossing in black and white instead of the platform? These level crossings are scarce around town, yet they are excellent for safety. Seriously . . . I like to drive on the level.
