Botanical prints inspire a look that’s pretty and sweet

-

WITH THE gap between seasonal deliveries in store becoming increasingly shorter, designers are looking to versatile prints that transcend seasons.

Floral prints are the choice of fabric for several designers over the warmer months, however there’s a specific focus on painterly botanicals and orchard fruit prints that can be worn this season, right through to the next.

From kitschy floral prints on 60s-style shift dresses at Moschino, to the oversized peony prints clashing with hard-edged snakeskin prints at Preen, designers have thought long and hard about how they can transform a seasonal cliche into something that is fresh and of the moment.

Orchard fruits provide an eye-catching alternative to saccharine florals with Celine Rita’s summer collection highlighting an orchard print that can be found on whimsical dresses and relaxed tailored pieces, such as a jacket and matching belt (#3).

Salasai’s perennial print is a key focus across their entire summer collection from full-circle skirts, silk blouses and short suits to full-length linen overalls (#2), the latter a fun alternative to this season’s myriad jumpsuits.
