Yvonne’s pick . . .

-

Petit Manseng (pronounced “pet-eee monsong”) is a super-zesty, citrus and spice-laden white from the south of France and it’s rarely seen in New Zealand. But the Churton Marlborough Petit Manseng 2017, $49 is 500ml of organic, biodynamic brilliance that will send you sideways with joy. Grown by the Weaver family in their Waihopai Valley vineyard, this wine is so outrageously, unusually, delicious with the sticky-sweet goodness of this pudding that I needed to share the love. Its intense, greengage plum and toffee top-notes morph into baked apple and racy, mandarin magic in the mouth. It’s so zesty-fresh and sweet, it’ll invade every thought process.
