SCIENCE SECRETS
What lies beneath the Ross Ice Shelf? We know it’s a floating ice shelf; it’s the size of Spain. But it’s also a blindspot in the global ocean system and one of the least understood marine environments on Earth. Some of the secrets of the Ross Ice Shelf will be revealed next week and you’ll hear all about the findings of a four-year aerial survey, which used radar to penetrate beneath the ice. The free event, organised by Auckland Antarctic Science Meet-up, is another in their popular Antarctic science talks for grown-ups and kids.
Monday, July 22, 6pm -7.30pm Macgregor Room, School of Biological Sciences, Level One, Old Biology Building, University of Auckland, 5 Symonds St, Auckland.
