TAONGA PUORO

Here’s something worth making the effort to stumble across. Internationally renowned composer Warwick Blair has developed a new work specifically for taonga puoro that will be performed by Al Fraser, widely respected for his skill with traditional Maori musical instruments. The performance, entitled Protest, takes place outside Northart gallery and will be followed by a talk and an opportunity to look at the display of Maori traditional instruments.
