What I’d do
1 Boy, I love the weekend, I think about it from about Wednesday on. On Saturday morning I'm probably going to sleep in and feel guilty about not going to the gym. I play Snort late on a Friday night at the Basement Theatre in town, so I usually feel dead inside on a Saturday morning. Snort, Fridays, 10pm. basementtheatre. co. nz/ whats- on/ snort2 I usually try to travel around as little as possible on the Saturday because I’m lazy, so I'll go to a cafe in Kingsland for brunch. I really like Green Leaf Organics, and Baker's Cottage in Kingsland is an absolute dream.

Julia is making some of the best solo performance work in the country at the moment. I also want to see Jane Doe at QTheatre staring Karin McCracken and directed by Eleanor Bishop, who I am so inspired by at the moment. She recently made Boys at Auckland Theatre Company and it made me cry for weeks. Sure, the Metro Centre is like a sad rocketship but goddamn I love Pappa Rich. The food — Malaysian delights — is always out so fast and so delicious. Other highlights for the weekend might be going to the new Bunnings in Grey Lynn.
