Parkes called up for Wales

A day after becoming eligible, New Zealander Hadleigh Parkes will make his debut for Wales against South Africa in Cardiff this weekend. Second five- eighth Parkes is one of five injuryforced changes made to the side which lost to the All Blacks, as coach Warren Gatland explores his side’s depth. Parkes was named in the squad in October but did not complete his residency qualification in time for the match against his home country. Parkes, 30, played Super Rugby for the Blues, South Africa’s Kings and the Hurricanes in successive seasons before leaving for Welsh club Scarlets in late 2014.
