THE LAS VEGAS STRIP
Residencies have been a staple of the Las Vegas Strip for decades, pioneered by pianist Liberace in the 1940s and Frank Sinatra in the 1950s. In the late 60s and early 70s Elvis Presley played an eight-year run at the Hilton Showroom, entertaining an estimated 2.5 million people. More recently, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Backstreet Boys, Ricky Martin and Pitbull are among the artists who have signed up to extended runs. Those announcing a string of shows for 2018 include Bruno Mars, and Lady Gaga who has signed for a two-year run at the MGM Park Theatre.
