Worker dies at sawmill plant

A woman working at a Masterton sawmill died yesterday in an accident at the plant. Emergency services were called to Kiwi Lumber at Waingawa near Masterton just after 8.30am. Kiwi Lumber spokeswoman Liz Read said it was a “devastating day for the team.” Carterton Mayor John Booth said: “Knowing the tight community where it’s happened, they will be feeling it deeply.”
