-

Michaela Blyde has become just the fifth woman to score 100 tries on the Sevens World Series circuit. The twotime World Sevens Player of the Year scored the final try of the Black Ferns Sevens’ 31-0 victory over Russia in the quarter-finals of the season-opening tournament in Dubai to reach triple figures, then scored the first three as the United States were blanked 22-0 in the semifinals. The Black Ferns Sevens, who beat Kenya 34-7, Russia 29-12 and Ireland 24-17 in pool play, were aiming for a 30th straight World Series win in the final overnight against Canada. In the men’s tournament in Dubai last night, the All Blacks Sevens side qualified for tonight’s quarter-finals after defeating Wales 28-7 and Spain 28-17.
