What I’d do

- Jess Quinn

1 On Saturdays, like most mornings, begin for me at Odettes Eatery, where I have my morning coffee and avocado on toast while I get some work done. I know, it’s Saturday but the work never stops and, to be honest, it never really feels like work.

2 After this I usually head over to the North Shore to catch up with my family. I love a stroll along Takapuna beach, probably with another coffee in hand, or head out to Hobsonville Markets with my puppy. I stock up on fresh produce, buy myself some flowers and see what delicious food is around. There’s always something different to try.

3 Then it’s time for a relaxing afternoon at home before heading to Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park to co-host with Mike Puru. If it’s not already on your t0-do list tonight, it’s a must. It’s always been my favourite way to get in the Christmas Spirit. Pack a picnic, bring the family, sing some Christmas songs and make some memories.

4 Sunday will involve a small sleep-in after a big night of singing and dancing. I usually drive out to the Mission Bay Pavillion for brunch and coffee with my sister, followed by a stroll around Mission Bay. Then we take a trip to GoodFor on Williamson Ave to stock up on my pantry goods for the week. I’m like a kid in a candy shop there. They have everything from kombucha on tap to dark chocolate strawberries that rock my world. Try them, you won’t regret it.

5 Sunday afternoons are usually pretty slow-paced. I get myself organised for the week ahead before heading out to Mum and Dad’s for a Sunday family dinner.
