What I’d do
1admin,
My Saturday usually starts at the home office —
corresponding with clients and dancers, venue, music and costume checks. Definitely a large cup of coffee is a must for the hectic preparations — I prefer a short stroll to the local Little Goodies Cafe in Sunnynook for a large trim flat white.

My body is my bread and butter and maintenance
key. Link Chiro, literally around the corner from my place, is where I get adjusted and aligned from head to toe. This is actually one of the key factors on how I’ve kept my dance career for more than 25 years. 20 Link Drive, Glenfield.
3Takapuna,
My husband/dance partner/party buddy works at
so the beach eventually became our hang out spot. Just a few minutes of breathing exercises here takes me away from all the stress from choreographing admin and scheduling. It refreshes the mind and body. We love paddle boarding here on summer days.

Later, we’ll head over to the Auckland Town Hall a rehearsal as we get ready for show time. Our next big performance will be part of Auckland Fringe Festival but to me, every show is a party — I’m with friends and there is always a massive crowd of K-Pop fans ready to rock it out with us. I love being on stage of course, but what I love the most about our K-Pop shows is that the crowd gets INVOLVED — they sing the lyrics, doing the dance . . . it’s the best experience. When you are there, take part in the trivia games, dance cover comps, sing to your favourite tunes, get down in the cyphers, and take pictures with us too.

After-show is the after-party. I like to head into town,
a good feed — usually a Korean spot like Pocha in Chancery. I mean, have you tried Korean fried chicken and soup dishes? Highly recommended. It sounds crazy, but we actually go out for a boogie despite a whole day of rehearsing.
