MUSIC IN PARKS

Instead of spending your summer complaining about your exorbitant rates, get out and enjoy one of the excellent public series that those pesky rates fund: Auckland Council’s Music in Parks. The series kicks off with Summer Camping at the stunning Omana Regional Park, featuring New Telepathics and alternative folk trio Tweed. Then A World Music Celebration features Niko Ne Zna, New Zealand’s very own Balkan gypsy brass extravaganza, at the Band Rotunda in the Domain. If neither of those float your boat, check out the full schedule at musicinparks.co.nz. If you don’t find something that tickles your fancy there, you’re probably a miserable crank and can go back to whinging about your rates.
