What I’d do

- Chloe and Floss

1swim On Saturday morning a few of us will gather for a

or paddleboard with Moana around Haulashore Island. If we are lucky we will see the local seals, or if we make it to Cable Bay, the dolphins enjoying the marine reserve. We love the early morning paddle before the wind picks up, with the Kahurangi mountains as a backdrop. This will no doubt be followed by coffee at Raglan Roast. Nelson boasts several good quality, locally roasted brews — Sublime, Pomeroys, Kush, and Zumo. moananzsup.co.nz

If we make it out for lunch, it will probably be Devilles,

Street or Lambrettas. The afternoon rolls around with a swim in the Maitai River just down the road from our house. We love our clean rivers, it is a part of growing up in Nelson, and we are very keen to do what we can to keep it that way for all New Zealanders. Sustainability is something we are always striving to improve, our most recent project was turning our juicery solar powered. 3craft Around 4pm we will see you at Kirby Lane for a local

beer and delicious street food. Vburgers are a favourite, they make a bloody good vegan burger with a mushroom pattie and grilled vegan cheese. This is a great way to wind down after a full week and catch up with some of the other local entrepreneurs while listening to live music. kirbylane.co.nz

Sunday morning we hope to get on top of the

garden. There is nothing better than basil and tomatoes straight from the garden rubbed on some home-made sourdough. We’ll then head to River Kitchen for lunch, which has beanbags out the front overlooking the river. A walk up the Brook Sanctuary, then up Codgers to the mountain bike trails, we will probably do P51, which has smooth and lazy rollers. On our way up, we’ll end up discussing the issues of the day and no doubt figure out a way to save the world. Feel free to join us. theriverkitchen.co.nz
