Space offered at North Auckland Trade centre
A major commercial trade centre, now taking shape amidst booming residential estates just inland from Orewa, will offer 7500sq m of retail space across two high-profile corner sites.
The Highgate Trade Centre and Home Zone will be opposite the 2.3ha land holding recently acquired for a Mitre 10 Mega, and retail tenancies of between 400sq m to 1500sq m will be available there.
Colliers International agents Jimmy O’Brien, Ryan de Zwart and Leroy Wolland say the design of these spaces has flexibility built-in, to match tenant requirements.
They are now leasing these retail spaces off the plans. And O’Brien sees, "an awesome opportunity for retailers to secure a brand-new premises in one of Auckland’s fastestgrowing areas". He says construction is to begin once some 50 per cent of the development has been unconditionally leased.
The construction timeframe is an estimated 9-12 months. Elsewhere at the business park construction is either underway, or completed, across some 6ha of the subdivision.
"Highgate is at the heart of the high-growth Silverdale/Wainui area Auckland Council has earmarked for significant residential expansion,” says O’Brien.
“More than 3,000 homes have been completed at nearby Millwater, and 5000 are in the pipeline at Millwater, Arran Point, Arran Hills, Bonair and Milldale. We envision a strong mix of retailers including plumbing, paint, electrical, building supplies, DIY, flooring, furniture, automotive and marine tenants.”
He adds that both buildings within the development will occupy prime central locations within the Business Park. The corner properties have frontages to Colin Chester Drive, which is the main road leading to Millwater, only 500m to the east.
“The larger of the two properties also benefits from frontage to Highgate Parkway, which is master planned to become the main road to Milldale.”
● Trade Centre 1 will be located on a 10,737q m site fronting Colin Chester Drive, directly opposite the site recently purchased by Mitre 10. It will have a lettable area of 5,280sq m, comprising six units of between 430sq m to 1445sq m.
● Trade Centre 2 will occupy a 5280sq m site fronting Emirali Road, also opposite the Mitre 10 site. It will have a lettable area of 2350sq m, comprising four units of between 490sq m to 710sq m.
Wolland says the retail centre is being developed by Highgate Commercial Ltd, which is master-planning the wider Highgate Business Park on
60ha of land about 30km north of Auckland CBD.
